Frac tank requests across the Permian Basin
The Permian stretches well beyond Odessa and Midland. A rental firm with a yard near I-20 may cover a lease two counties away, or may not. These notes help you describe the location so the firm can answer that quickly.
Odessa
On I-20 and US 385. Odessa sits over the Central Basin Platform, between the Delaware Basin to the west and the Midland Basin to the east, and is home to many oilfield service yards.
For the request: Give the yard or lease name and whether the job is in town, on the Andrews Highway side, or out toward Goldsmith or Penwell.
Midland
About 20 miles east of Odessa along I-20, over the Midland Basin. Many operators keep their Permian offices here.
For the request: Say whether the tanks go to a field location or a yard in town, and the county the lease is in; many Midland offices run wells in other counties.
Monahans
West of Odessa on I-20, on the eastern side of the Delaware Basin, one of the busiest drilling areas in the Permian.
For the request: Ward County leases are often reached by FM roads off I-20 or SH 18; include the road and any gate codes.
Andrews
North of Odessa on US 385, on the Central Basin Platform, with a long history of conventional oil production.
For the request: State whether the site is a production battery, a disposal facility or a drilling pad; the setup questions differ.
Big Spring
East of Midland on I-20, on the eastern side of the Midland Basin. The town also has a refinery.
For the request: Refinery or plant work usually comes with site-access and safety rules; put them in the request.
Pecos
Far west on I-20, in the Delaware Basin. It is the longest drive from Odessa on this list, so delivery and pickup weigh more in the quote.
For the request: Ask early whether the firm runs trucks out to Reeves County, and give a realistic window for delivery.
Kermit
North-west of Odessa on SH 302 and SH 18, in the Delaware Basin near the New Mexico line.
For the request: Lease roads out here can be long and rough; mention road condition and the nearest paved road.
Seminole
North of Andrews on US 385 and US 62/180, on the northern edge of the Permian, with farming as well as oil.
For the request: Say if the site is on farmland or a ranch with its own access rules.
